When He Crossed His HeartA Poem by Melinda McQueenWhen He Crossed His Heart
A promise to be fulfilled, The promise God willed. Coming down from the throne To allow true love to be known.
Moved with compassion deep, He lived a pure life, meant not to keep. For to die, He delivered His part When He crossed His heart.
Bringing hope to lost souls, Healing wherever He would go. Praying for the ones Who believed not that He was the Son.
Still, He taught of the Father’s love, Letting His will be done. A light shed in the dark, When He crossed His heart.
Carrying its load upon His beaten back, Love did not lack. The wooden cross as heavy as sin, Yet, Jesus bore its weight to its end.
With the destination complete, Death He would soon defeat. He gave His last breath with outstretched arms When He crossed His heart. © 2017 Melinda McQueenReviews
