The Silver MoonA Poem by Melinda McQueenThe Silver Moon
Hanging low, Suspended between heaven and earth, The silver moon longs to bestow The power of its worth.
Blinking its eye, It looks down at all it wants. It looks up in the sky From whence it dawns.
Heavy with energy, The silver moon knows its weight. Searching for peace In its late state.
Though its form sags Beneath a star-lit sky, The silver moon dares to ask, “When will I shine?”
Beholding all the wonder, How the stars twinkle, How the clouds thunder, How the colors in a sunset sky sprinkle.
Surveying all the beauty, It realized its truth. For it was its glow which caused all to see Beneath the silver moon. © 2017 Melinda McQueenReviews
