My Glass HeartA Poem by Melinda McQueenMy Glass Heart
Trying to keep it clean and spotless Just isn’t possible in the world we live. Developing stains and distress Though it gives and gives.
Longing to shine In the dark. Hoping to find Love for my glass heart.
Because it’s see-through, It’s hard to hide What I feel true… All I feel deep inside
Fragile and lowly, Yet, entrusted to someone to be a part. And their love I keep In my glass heart.
Breakable, it shatters, Yet, love, it still contains. To me, it still matters, Even in midst of the ache.
Though it hurts, May I leave it open through the dark… Letting my love-light burn In my glass heart. © 2017 Melinda McQueenReviews
