![]() The Flight of DreamsA Poem by Melinda McQueenThe Flight of Dreams
Long shadows befall, Carrying darkness in slender fingers. Creeping, it slowly crawls And lingers.
Blinking its eye, Its grip firm. The dream longs to take flight, Seeking its turn.
Winking at obstacles in the way, The flight of dreams soar. Caring not about the grey, But focusing on what’s in store.
Though stumbling blocks refuse to roll, Its journey isn’t deterred. Square and hard to control, Yet, the dreams never blur.
Believing in the heart That there is a glowing light in which leads, Keeping the faith even in the dark Is the flight of dreams. © 2017 Melinda McQueenReviews
