Spinning My WheelsA Poem by Melinda McQueenSpinning My Wheels
Life has a funny way In putting me in my place. Reminding me that some things just aren’t meant to be-- Not for little me.
Try as I may, I will never fit in And all my good things will come to an end. Nothing lasts, nothing’s real, I’m spinning my wheels.
Painstakingly trying to reach my destination, While having reservations. Desperately trying to move along In chorus to my unheard song.
Road blocks many, One Way signs, far and near Leave me spinning my wheels.
Like a stationary bicycle, I’m going nowhere, No matter how hard I pedal, or how carefully I steer. I’m still in the same place, Sitting in wait.
Even so, in keeping faith, I hope to live out my days With my wheels on the pave And my heart full of thanks.
Though the journey is long and slow, And though I may have to do this solo… For me… to get anywhere… I must keep spinning my wheels. © 2016 Melinda McQueenReviews
