If I went away,

If I lost my way,

If me you didn’t see,

Would you look for me?

 

If from me, you didn’t hear

Would you long to be near?

If something seemed amiss,

Would you recognize it?

 

If I remained silent,

Would you wonder where I went?

If words I no longer wrote,

Would you notice I was gone?

 

If I lost my inner voice,

Would you fill the void?

If I forgot who I was completely,

Would you know me enough to remind me?

 

If I were but a shell,

Would you be able to tell?

If myself I could no longer see,

Would you look for me?
