![]() The Deepest WellA Poem by Melinda McQueenThe Deepest Well
A splash here, a splash there, To reach the top, the droplets dared. Hoping to reach the surface above, Praying to be enough.
The sun shines, Shedding a prism’s light. The droplets made their way Through the deepest well in faith.
Where they were had been dark and lonely, And they longed to be free. At the bottom it was impossible to see Where they were meant to be.
For it was difficult to see the light From their black pit, with only darkness in sight. Still, they kept splashing through troubled waters, Through the deepest well, their faith never faltered.
Praying for their dreams to crystalize, Steadily did they rise. Swimming through, the top they reached, And their longings could breathe.
A splash here, a splash there, The Light is everywhere. For God’s grace dwells In the deepest well. © 2016 Melinda McQueenReviews
