Three Little TwigsA Poem by Melinda McQueenThree Little Twigs
Three little twigs growing side by side, Waiting for the much needed rain to reside. Their soil, hard and dry, A thirst made them cry. Each day they would pray For refreshing rain. Feeling feeble and weak, Three little twigs shared one need. “Where is God?” asked the first little twig. “’Has he forgot?” asked the second little twig. “He is working on us, you will see.” said the third little twig, “He is forming us… all three.” As the months passed, Doubts began to attack. For the rain still delayed. Three little twigs in dismay. Wasting away in the dirt, The third little twig kept alert. For his two twig friends needed him, As his faith stemmed. They all began to pray And all their worries went away. Then, before they knew, The three little twigs grew. And soon they realized… Bursting with pride… They had become one vine As their strength they did find. For gathering in Jesus’s Name, Three little twigs found their way. © 2016 Melinda McQueenReviews
