Constance's GranddaughterA Poem by Melinda McQueenConstance’s Granddaughter
Taking what life gives And going with the slow drift. Conquering what’s placed before me, Setting goals in my own esteem.
Going about my path, I try to not count my lack. Strength I foster, I am Constance’s granddaughter.
A will to survive, A heart to thrive Her countenance set as stone When someone threatened her own.
Always attentive, showing love, Adding to another’s cup. My faith will never falter, I am Constance’s granddaughter.
Her lively spirit glowing, Her temperament for the showing. Never letting things go unsaid, She put fear to bed.
I still feel her around me, And I hear her plea. My hope will never alter, I am Constance’s granddaughter. © 2016 Melinda McQueenReviews
