A Rainbow Somewhere

A Rainbow Somewhere

A Poem by Melinda McQueen

A Rainbow Somewhere

After a heavy downpour

One looks for a rainbow.

Seeking beauty in store

With the sky aglow.

Dreaming something to be,

Living on faith in God’s care,

Knowing the promise indeed.

A rainbow somewhere.

Life has many pitfalls,

And paths have speedbumps.
Blessings seem to stall

And stumbling blocks triumph.

A light shining against the grey,

Against the bad times,

Against everything standing in the way.

A rainbow somewhere is filling the sky.

Lose not your faith when troubles rise,

For God does his best work behind the clouds.

Lift your eyes

And His grace will be found.

Reaching dreams,

Leaning on hope.

Knowing that in all things,

For you, God has a rainbow somewhere.

This is so pretty - a positive message to never lose sight, even in the darkest times. I'm not religious but I believe in something, I believe in magic from within where "his grace" will be found. I like the imagery and the repetition.I especially like the rhyme and flow of the fourth stanza. Great job, pleasure to read. :)
