In The StormA Poem by Melinda McQueenIn The Storm
The clouds weigh heavily again As lightning glows from within. Peeking out from corners, Aware of unspoken borders
Striking in blows, The current it knows. Reaching the divide, In the storm there’s nowhere to hide.
Thunderbolts of desire Flash through my sky higher and higher. So much I wish I could accomplish.
I can see in the distance The dance I wish to dance, Yet my legs refuse to move. In the storm am I my ow muse.
For I dream in spite of myself, Counting it as a certain wealth. Living through my heart, Though I may never impart.
Will the clouds cease? Will the thunder ease? I know not the answer to these. But let my dreams be born Even in the storm. © 2016 Melinda McQueenReviews
