Tomorrow's TreasuresA Poem by Melinda McQueenTomorrow’s Treasures
Why are
you so sad? For there’s a spark Awaiting to be ignited in your heart.
I know you feel like giving up On the dreams you’ve dreamt of… Feeling it has been a waste Just to contemplate.
Looking back at the road you’ve journeyed, Do you like what you see? You find yourself wondering what it would have been like If you had walked the opposite side.
Rain waters soak you to the core Until you are too heavy to take any more. Weighed down by disappointment and grief, You long for relief.
I close my eyes And feel my chest rise… Then, with tears upon my face, I hear something inside me say…
Cast your eyes not down, Nor look back, for only in memories is Yesterday found, But look up ahead with anticipated pleasure Of Tomorrow’s Treasures. © 2016 Melinda McQueenReviews
