Perfectly Perfected

Perfectly Perfected

A Poem by Melinda McQueen

I wish I were “normal”,

having the average skills…

to be a part of the formal

living in which daily life wills.

As the sky blinks,

heavy under the weight,

the silver sun sinks

perfection as rain befalls the day.

My limbs refuse to work

like I want them to,

and my tongue doesn’t form the words

my heart needs to let loose.

The rivers flow

into its destined sea,

the wings of birds know
just where to go.

I have come to realize

that everything has its place,

and everyone is special in God’s eyes,

for even the birds need His winds of grace.

So, in Him I live,

and I will forever be cherished,

for the Holy Spirit He gives

reminds me that I am being perfectly perfected as He is.
