The Opened JarA Poem by Melinda McQueenThe glass jar sat open for years On a dusty shelf. Nothing touched it except a shaft of sun which peered Through stained curtains slightly blown adrift.
Barren and empty It sat alone. Desiring to have need, The opened jar was in its home.
Though it is cracked And discolored, It is still a vessel wanting to bask In God’s favor.
It waits the day When a stronger wind makes the curtains part, And more of the sun comes its way. The opened jar wants out of the dark.
Realizing it hadn’t a lid, It was open to receive. Nothing was hid… Everything was to be sought in belief.
A breeze came through, Parting the stained curtains in a contrast stark. For God remains true In the life of the opened jar. © 2015 Melinda McQueenReviews
