Garden of Tears

Garden of Tears

A Poem by Melinda McQueen

There was a girl

Who lived in her own little world.

A garden she planted,

Taking not a wilted flower for granted.

She watered it every day,

Nourishing in her own way.

While the water was a need,

She knew there was more to the seed.

For each day she came

To sit in her garden and pray.

Imagining each flower unfolding

Was a dream bestowing.

She thought if she had enough faith,

Her dreams would make haste.

So, planting the desires she’s had through the years,

She sewed into her garden of tears.

As she watered with faith,

She began to see her garden take shape.

For the flowers bloomed

In their own truth.

Knowing her cries were heard,

The fire inside continued to burn.

Having no fear…

She was growing in her garden of tears.

Absolutely stunning, I could feel a little tear creep up in my eye, this speaks so well to everyone who has ever had to grow out of their pain, I wish I could have this printed on a beautiful parchment and put it in my garden to read as the flowers bloom. Wonderful reminder on how to weather storms and what patience and endurance can bring. Thank you and bless you for sharing!

Tears oh honest emotion are never a wasted endeavor. It's my though that the will bloom into emotional maturity. Lovely wsy with words Melinda. This is a romantic secret garden watered with sadness and tears until it blooms into something beautiful.

This is a very tender, moving piece. These are all soft fragile entities. I have always been around things that required brute force or fulcrum this and lever that. Since I have been retired, I have found and made contact with a side of myself that I always knew was there but, outside of a few poems here and there never had time to explore and get to know that aspect of myself. I am surprised by what I am finding and relating to.
I enjoyed your poem as this review is supposed to be about you.
