Blue Rose

Worthy of a second look

As water rushes to a brook.

Always catching the eye

Among the others who seem not to rhyme.

 

Standing out in indifference,

Folded inwardly in its substance.

The wind gently blows…

I am a Blue Rose.

 

I’m unlike most others,

A somewhat rarity to wonder.

The Red Rose receives the attention,

And love oftentimes is its definition.

 

Yet, when I am seen,

It’s a surprise unique

To see me grow…

I am a Blue Rose.

 

Though at times I tire,

God reminds me that I live to inspire.

Seeking His face,

I hope I lead others to His grace.

 

For every soul is blue

Until unfolding in His truth.

Fragile are my petals… this He knows…

I am a Blue Rose.

I like the belief we must set the example. Not force belief on other people. God people must lead with love, kindness and hope. Lately women been killed in the Middle East. People serving the poor and homeless. People lost in war. People who stand for love and are lost. Show me God is alive and well. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.
