Planting Seeds

Planting Seeds

A Poem by Melinda McQueen

Like the rain nourishes the land,

The heart of man

Is thirsty for more

Than what they implore.

We as Christians have the great honor and responsibility

Of telling others about the love of Christ freely.

There is such a need,

A duty in planting seeds.

What a blessing to be used

By God to make lives new.

To be a vessel of His grace

In revealing the power in His Name.

A gift to open,

Hard soil to tend.

Plowing through until it penetrates…

Planting seeds before it’s too late.

The realization in eyes,

The first time their faith reaches the sky.

A hope anew,

A rebirth into truth.

How sweet it is

To be ever cherished

By God who we shall all meet

If we continue planting seeds.

This is very inspiring Melinda. You express your thoughts very uniquely and tenderly here. You understand that every child of His Kingdom has a role to play and are partners and partakers of sowing and harvesting. Thank you for sharing this here...It is a joy and refreshing to read such godly thoughts...

Melinda, this reminded me very much of the parable (of the sowers) ?
It has such a missionary spirit about it too

These are my favourite lines here and they exhibit the spirit of the author and their attitude towards converting others (the missionary spirit, I mentioned) -
"Plowing through until it penetrates…
Planting seeds before it’s too late."

Kudos my friend

Melinda, you have a wonderful ability to open eyes, to invite people to see what you already see and to hear what you already hear. These people are hungry to meet our Lord and they do not even know that he exists until you and people like you tell them.
