Great Faith

Great Faith

A Poem by Melinda McQueen

Great faith

Flows through the veins

Of every believer

Of the blessed Redeemer.

The Good Book is filled with stories

Of people with faith in God and His mercies.

The woman who just had to touch Jesus’s garment hem,

Knowing she would be healed by Him.

Oh what great faith

Of old days.

How Noah obeyed

In building the ark even though he had never seen rain.

Deeply rooted in every Christian heart

Is a well-spring that lights their dark.

It overwhelms and satisfies

To the highest heights.

How blessed are we today

That the Lord is the same

As when He parted the Red Sea.

How great faith can be.

One of our many blessings

Is faith to make our hearts sing.

Lift your eyes,

For someday you will rise.

Just hold on and seek His face

With Great faith.

A very powerful piece and a message that I think we all need to be reminded of sometimes. I really needed to hear this. I love the elegance you brought it forth with. And I love the sense of joy and triumph that leaks and shines out of each and every great line you wrote here. Thank you for sharing it with us!

By the way, I don't want to make it seem like I'm trying to promote myself in your review here but I can tell from this poem that you might be interested in my religious novel that I have just published. It's called "The Passion" and you can check it out on Amazon in this link if you would like to: http://www.amazon.com/Passion-Michael-LaCovara/dp/1508702780/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1430668576&sr=8-1&keywords=michael+lacovara

Powerful words dear Poet.
"How blessed are we today
That the Lord is the same
As when He parted the Red Sea.
How great faith can be."
I see the good in our world daily. We must be careful not to allow the liars and the naysayers to hide the love and hope of God. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

Thank you for reading.
Melinda, this has great flow and a wonderful message about holding on to your faith in the harshest times. How hard it must of been for Noah and Mosses, people could have thought them crazy and in Noah's case did. Where has that blind faith in our Lord gone? Lovely lovely write, thank You for sharing it with us.
