Blue Hill

Blue Hill

A Poem by Melinda McQueen

The landscape broad

With green grass to trod.

Strolling along,

She felt alone.

Though she could see the grand layout,

She felt as though she were under a cloud"

A dark cloud which followed her everywhere,

Always hanging over her here and there.

Her mind replayed

Everything on her mind that laid.

Yesteryear was now in the forefront

As the meaning she did hunt.

Still walking, she pondered

Her most amazing wonder.

Something so great had happened,

But it had come to an end.

Before she knew it, she was standing atop

An elevated surface which seemed to be a rock.

Although, with further inspection, she was stilled,

For looking down, she found she was on a blue hill.

How she had gotten here, she was unsure,

Her memories had lured

Her onto this blue hill

Which seemed to have its own will.

She didn’t want to feel sad anymore

When memories she explored.

For to her they belonged, true and real,

Someday she hopes a glorious mountain will be made of her blue hill.

I am wondering what a blue hill is all about. Never came ran up against this one before. A mountain with a blue hill on it. I reread it and I find that I need more information. Nice poem but, I need more to rate this properly.

It's a metaphor to being sad and alone. A place I feel that is all my own.

This piece feels more like prose poetry then verse with rhyme. the use of near rhyme throughout allows the reader to ignore the rhyme scheme even though it plays a part in your structure. you have created a lovely picture of your mountain and I love the strong opening stanza.
