All That Matters

Alone with my thoughts,

Attention from you is sought.

Wishing you were here,

Ever so near.

 

What we share,

The emotion and care

Is altogether announced

In the here and now.

 

Others seem to have it so easy,

To love and not have to release.

To earn the so-called right

To love through plight.

 

To express freely,

To be bold in every feat.

To hold tight when times gather

Is all that matters.

 

To love in a body

That doesn’t quite meet

Certain standards

Is more than hard.

 

Yet, here we are,

Loving from meager hearts.

I love you and you love me even when shattered…

Love is all that matters.
