The Folded Napkin

Easter poem.

In Hebrew days

A disheveled napkin in a plate

Signaled that the master had finished,

And the servant would collect the dish.

 

However, if the napkin was folded,

His return would be noted.

 

Jesus paid the price at Calvary

When He died to set us free.

The most perfect Servant and Word

To the most perfect Master and Lord.

 

Obedient to the cross

At all cost.

Giving up the ghost,

Hope rose.

 

On the third day,

Nothing but His clothes did lay

In His place,  

As well as the folded cloth which had covered His face. (John 20:7)

 

Quite a sign

From the great Divine.

For He’s coming back again,

Hence, the folded napkin.

I read a write-up about this and was inspired to write a poem.
