A Writer Writes

A Writer Writes

A Poem by Melinda McQueen
"

The soul flows out.

"

As a painter splatters a canvas,

Colors in visual emotion are displayed.

A singer sings its chorus,

Hoping its melody does not fade.

As the dancer spins

In tune to predestined moves,

The actor’s lines are lent

To convey a story in truth.

As a planter sews

Faithful seeds...

A designer shapes and prunes

Fabric into what it’s meant to be.

Dreams come to play;

Some drift with the tide,

While others dare to stay.

Yet, all share a purpose in the glorious ride.

The searcher of her own soul,

The spilling forth of her essence.

A vessel from which flows

Her every wanting presence.

Short is her inner pen,

But much is her spiritual ink.

For it always sends

To the paper more than she thinks.

As a heart feels,

The eyes cry.

As the spirit spills,

A writer writes.

Artist, writers and musicians. Must love the words and craft. A perfect closure to the excellent poetry.

This is a wonderful eay ti describe writing, for we iften bare our souls in.various ways, but we write them down to give permanence to our hopes and dreams.

Melinda, I'm sorry I got confused over who's writing I was reviewing. But this piece is truly outstanding! Please see the review I wrote below (mistakenly addressing it as one of sereena's writes). Now I have to go find her poem which I deleted from my read requests after finishing the review. One of my frequent age-augmented brain cramps. 8^) take care...dan

sereena, This is such a great idea, the way you constructed this piece leading up to the writer's production. You explore other art forms and talk about what is produced by these artists' work; it then transitions into the writer plying her craft. I usually don't quote from the writes I'm reviewing but one couplet really stands out for me here: "Short is her inner pen, but much is her spiritual ink." That single couplet is, in itself, a piece of art. Just an outstanding piece of writing, young lady! take care...dan

Melinda: Everything is encompassed and shouts to the universe A Writer Writes, with such glorious hues, for within evry word the tone sounds on a journey so far and wide hear my spirit, I soar, I glide; by the words:
Short is her inner pen,
But much is her spiritual ink.
For it always sends
To the paper more than she thinks.
As a heart feels,
The eyes cry.
As the spirit spills,

You're welcome!
A beautiful word picture of what we all attempt to do as we create our verbal tapestries for the reading public to devour.
