Wannabe

Wannabe

A Poem by Tori Jones

When this world has taken control
I sit down and think
How blessed I am to be
Still living
And breathing
Which keeps me from thinking
I am a lost cause and a waste of time

I can be who I wannabe
And need to stop
Basing things off
Depression and grief
For love is so much more
Than pain and sorrow
For it never asks to borrow
The control that I hold
But goes along with the things
That I put in store
And makes me able to be
Who I wannabe

I don't have to live off
People and their wicked insults
For I am loved
By the one true God
Who sent his son to save
The world
Faults and all
For God is love
And will forever be
There for people
 like you and me

Life is sometimes hard
But we need to press on
And fight back with all that we are
If we ever want to escape depression
And feel loved within
Then you can finally be
Who you wannabe

this speaks to me, and yes there is always one true God, only he can judge us. He accepts us the way we are.

Yes, he does...I'm glad you like my poem, thanks for reviewing... God bless!
Anything that shows you the person you wannabe and puts you in the right direction of attaining it, will not only get you to where you want to be, but give you better understanding of the sadness others must have in their lives, to go about throwing insults at others in the hope of making themselves feel better. I have no sympathy for bullies, physical or mental, but we can but hope they see their true selves one day, and weep at what they see.
Only you have the right to decide what and who you become, as you so eloquently stated in this fine piece of writing and understanding.

We should all strive to be the best that we can be, sadly, many of us do not. I agree with Jacob regarding the lines he has highlighted. This is a very good write Tori

Thank you very much for taking the time to read and review my work...
The best attitude a human can ever have to be happy in this world is the attitude of gratitude... I'm very very glad that you are trying to look at the beauty around you and trying to see your inside, God never left you, He knows your deepest pain, darkest secrets and your biggest dreams... Love yourself my frnd, do not worry.. . You are precious in His eyes... You are important to the whole system of this universe...

Sincerely
Dhiman

Thank you...
Thank you for reminding me of God, when I used to push Him away when I am too sad and let myself rot in the darkness. I like how you structure the poem.

Just one suggestion:
I guess the ellipsis (...) can be removed from both the title and the last line to make it more sure.
