Only Hope

I walked into the school, my hood over my eyes along with my bangs. I stood next to my locker putting my stuff away and Nat ran over to me. "Ember! Slither Got Hurt last Night!" "what?!" I said franticly,my heart starting to freak out. "He Got attacked last night on his way home!" I sighs and closed my eyes as I lean against my locker. 'Oh he's alright though." I turned and glared at her. I felt the smacking her for making me freak out. "Why didn't you said that first?.." I said through clenched teeth. She shrugged and the bell rung. We went to class and sitting next to my seat was Slither. Oh no...I slowly walked over to him,hiding the bruise on my face. "Hey." "Hi.." I sat down and sighed as the teacher walked in. Mr. Hork was our Bio teacher and the most nervous one. "ok c-class, We are going to study r-r-r-relations and p-partnership. Turn to the person your next to and for the assignment you will ask then questions,try to pull them apart" I sighed and sat up slowly and Saw Slithers gaze on me. "S-S-So... are you ok Slither?..." "He nodded slowly, I felt tension in him. I slumped down into my chair feeling more awkward. "Ember would you do something with me tonight?.." I sighed as messed with my bracelets. "No..." I'm crazy..." "I'm busy tonight..." "Well i'll be at the dock most of the night so If you change your mind you know where to find me" he winked with a grin and got up to go talk to Ashlee Colt. Nat ran over and took his seat. "So Ember, Can i come over tonight?" "No... most likely I am going to Get smacked...Because I forgot to get my dad's clothes and Clean my room." She gave me a look and I looked away. I watched Ashlee and Slither flirting In the front off class. I grabbed my stuff and Walked out of the class room. I shoved my stuff in my locker and the Bell wrung and I went outside and sat in my car. I took some deep breaths until i got a text from an new number.

Anon: Hello Ember

Ember: Who are you?...

Anon: ..A friend. Would you do me something?

Ember: WHO the HELL are you?...

Anon: Would You meet me In town tonight so i may explain?

Ember: NO! Are you a stalker or something?!

Anon: I must go...we will speak...

Ember: What?! But who are you?

Anon is offline.

I Froze not knowing what to think or do at that moment. I started my car and went home. I walked through the door only to be smacked in the mouth with a leather Belt. I fell back and saw my dad standing there in rage. I looked past his feet to see the mess i also left from the dishes last night. S**t I moved away and stood up. I shoved past him and threw my stuff on the couch. "Look at this mess Ember! YOU SAID YOU'D CLEAN IT! Plus You never cleaned your room and you Forgot to get the clothes!!" He threw a plate at me. I ducked and then he Hit me with his belt before I could do anything. I felt the blood dripping down my cheek. I ran and Hid Behind the couch and the wall. I cringed as He yelled at me. I felt bad knowing my father was using some sort of Drugs but he refused to get any sort of help. After almost two hours he went upstairs and I got out and went into the bathroom. I cleaned up my face the best I could and then I called Nat. She came over immediately. "Ember!! Oh my God! your cheek..." She started to cry and I just stood there. "Natalie I' fine... I always am ok? just-" "I know... i'm sorry..." She wiped her eyes as I stared at the sun set. "Ember where's Your dad?" "In his room...But I got a strange text today..." I told her about the message I got from the stalker. "wow! Are you gonna go?!" "Heck no!" I gave her a confused look. "You wanna help me clean?" She hesitated. I knew she wasn't fond of cleaning. "Fine..." we went inside and I we slightly joked around and we talked about school. "oh Ember, Slither was in a past relationship with Ashlee." What?! When?' "Last year.." I sighed wondering if the day could get any worse then it already had. I instantly got a message from him. "Nat,look" I showed her the text and it was A heart with a smile next to it. She screams with joy and hugged me. I smirked. "I'm not giving in that easily..." "I understand that" she smiled. I got another message i read out loud. "Meet me at the side of the bleachers Before the Pep Rally...and Hello Natalie ;)" I groaned remembering the Pep Rally. Nat laughed at the text and we continued to clean. She spent the night and we talked a little more about school until she feel asleep. I looked at the stars as he look a deep breath or the crisp, cool air outside my window.
