I am Divided.

I am Divided.

A Poem by Christoph Poe

It's incredibly strange

How something can lay

A million miles away

Yet appear before ones eyes

In a moment divided by a moment.

Like a jagged rock

Beaten by the stream

It's takes a while before it's edges round.

When they round,

Erosion divided by erosion,

The stream flows.

The water is unnoticed

For the water created

The rounded stone

--belittled me--

The rounded stone.

Until the water is no longer

But a bed of dust and gravel.

The wind is heated

And the air is dry.

The sand closes in

And the yellow fades.

What once created

The rounded stone

No longer exists.

Ah, but as I lay under the warm sand,

Little do I know

That a million miles away

A cloud churns....

I am divided.

I really just spat this out. If you have any ideas that might make it read better, "I'm an open book so write me."

There are some very good images presented in this poem, my friend. There are quite a few lines that actually sound somewhat profound in my opinion. Lines like;

"In a moment divided by a moment."

That is a very interesting line indeed. For something that just came to you off the top of your head, this is really good. It just goes to show that you don't have to think about something and analyze every single small detail for hours in order for it to be good. Great job! :)

It's really plain yet wonderful. I imagined the whole scene play out. Keep it up!
