Lonely Lone Wolf

My poetry was once beautiful and metaphorical
Like every word or howl unspoken to you
Now its all clear cut and plain
That's what happens when you take a match to my world
And yet my lone wolf heart is what's aflame
Missing a graceful deer who's left to blame
But because I love her I bear the shame, the name

It's insane how the lone wolves are happier in pairs
But what makes a lone wolf lonely is when who he sees a mate
ignore, unaware
Mother nature the unfair
Lone wolf make your teeth flare
But in truth, is he just scared?

Hunting for two, felt with a purpose
Learning to hunt alone again feels almost worthless
Cause deer tend to flee
When a wolf loves them, see
This lonely wolf hopes
This won't stay this way
You and me
