What is character?

What is the purpose of it’s reign?

Is it taught to you?

Or does it run through your veins?

 

Is it an eternal blessing…Or a limited achievement?

Is it gained through a subconscious agreement?

 

Is it perplexing or understanding?

Familiar to you or unacquainted?

Is it hidden or clearly noticeable?

Ruler of it’s time or outdated?

 

Is it never enough or commonly substantial?

Do you require an abundance of it’s pleasure?

Or just a handful?

 

Is it manageable or does it like to be in control?

Does it prefer to do the telling or to do what is told?

 

And when you see it will you know it’s face?

Will you be ashamed for not having recognized?

Or be surprised at how much it has changed?

Will you ever forget it’s name?
