A Rewritten Fairytale

A Rewritten Fairytale

A Poem by The Little Lady

Let me tell you a story

About a girl who was a princess

And her knight in shinning armor

Once upon a time

He came to her tower

And asked her to leave

He took her hand

Down the stairs they went

He slayed the dragon

Killed the witch

And gutted the huntsman

Then to his castle

He whisked her away

Her happy ending

Lasted all of her days

Stop

Hold on

This would be a fairy tale

But my dear reader

This is the real story

And it is no fairy tale

So let me start over

And begin again

This time saying

What before I left unsaid

Once upon a time

    In her far away mind

He came to her tower

   Seeking more power

And asked her to leave

    To which she resisted

He took her hand

    With a sword he insisted

Down the stairs they went

    Him dragging her

He slayed the dragon

    Who was her protector

Killed the witch

    Who was her mentor

Gutted the huntsman

    Who was her only friend

Then to his castle

   her prison

He stole her away

A gloomy setting

For the rest of her days

Definately is a twist to classic tales, what I love bout this piece is it shows there can be more then meets the eye, we might only see the good when a couple is around us and have no idea what is happening behind the scenes. This was awesome.
