A Poem by Placenta
"

A poem I wrote about my Buddhist beliefs. People tend to criticize me on this quite often because I'm nowhere near Asian or of Asain decent.

"

I hold my hands high in the air

And pray to something that might not be there

Mutter the words of ancient root

Of a man with nails in hand and foot.

Do I believe in the being in the sky?

Do I praise His name on high?

Do I cherish Him?

No, not I.

I believe in something deeper than faith

To do more with love,

Never with hate.

An energy, a spirit within us all.

A breeze of the wind

The mockingbird's call.

The pearly gates hold no place for me,

I will be reborn when the time comes to be.

Heaven, no

But something more.

Another life, another time,

Another open door.

Author's Note

Placenta
This may sound weird, but i used the reference of a mockingbird from the book, To kill A Mockingbird because in the story, it is a sin to kill one, against gods will because mockingbirds don't do anything but sing beautiful music. A bit hypocritical, yes.
