Persistent

Persistent

A Poem by Phillip J Clayton

Venturing into the unknown,

we become legends...

Blind - nothing seen, nothing to fear,

Rise from the ashes, stand with power!

Dragged through dirt - pounded like meat.

Suppressed - anger boiled to hate,

heart pounding - refusing this fate!

Rise!

Dark corners - we found our selves!

Motivated pain,

Anger our strength,

defying destiny...

Swallow the sun,

out of this gloomy light we find peace,

pray the morning never comes....

While you make your peace with God,

I rage war with the rest fo the world.

Lost but not forgotten,

Repeated self abuse - day by day watching decay.

Autumn becomes snow,

life withered to dust,

a promise - suffer well.

Cursed this day,

left to bleed...

Beauty dies in her eyes,

Her soul turn to ice.

Wandering - a parallel existence,

No god can find me here...

feeling of cold breath,

awaiting a resolution that will never come,

doomed to live.

Before I take my leave,

death shall find them,

for the sake of my peace...

In the professional space, I am almost a diety... I say that with the greatest of humility. In my personal life I am frail and a primitive man... Self-actualization is not all it's cracked up to be. .. more..
