Phoenix

Phoenix

A Poem by Phillip J Clayton

Time stands still...

cold breath arrives,

what was once welcoming,

withers and dies,

A dreaded calm beckons,

spawns in darkness,

growing from within,

tearing at my mind.

Die today, fight with god!

chocked on blood, do not mourn for me,

candles burning away, weep not at my grave

bid me farewell, I die in peace.

...I fight with god...

A kiss says goodbye,

holding time in my arms,

Heading towards the hell we made...

The waters are now red

forgotten words - a memory dead,

kneeling before a cross,

my eyes stained,

let them take me,

away with bad dreams

I feel nothing....

As life fades - welcome a rising end.

In the professional space, I am almost a diety... I say that with the greatest of humility. In my personal life I am frail and a primitive man... Self-actualization is not all it's cracked up to be. .. more..
