This vanishing life

This vanishing life

A Poem by Phillip J Clayton
"

Experiencing change, sadness, and depression. Tormented by misery.

"

Stone wings with sorrow woven in,

Swallow the sun, burns my eyes no more.

Shadows no longer trail headstones.

You brought with you a world of tears,

the world mourns you, and I fear you.

Your beauty cripples me, your love scars me.

You speak in silence, snake tongues in your ear,

charming whispers, chants of a deceiver.

Truth slayed, wasted, secrets left bare.

See the ghost that I have become,

I cast no shadows; I have no reflection.

I am no longer, I am no one.

Love is a vapor
Emerging through a veil of clarity
My grave awaits below the mire

Sorrow has found us
Will you come with me?

I take a bow for every memory
A war will rage inside me
Another day vanishes
Return to dust

Time, what is left…

it won’t let go.
