A Prelude to Pain

A Prelude to Pain

A Poem by Phillip J Clayton
"

I have been in a bit of mental pain since the summer of 2018, this poem is a summary of my embrace and acknowledgement of things that followed.

"
In the face of happiness pain smiles back
The truth remains a mystery
Tangibility - Rain drops falling
The wind blowing
The heat of the sun burning your face
A dismal shadow behind you.
The lie isn't any more tangible than the truth
The hardest thing you will ever do - Believe the truth.
Looking forward - The show must go on.
