Sanctity

Sanctity

A Poem by B

Of all sacred things
Whispered life
Would there be much
A Moving sky
This heart would say
Captive to all that should be
Commanded to day
Giving tide to sea
Days would fold as
Those touched by
A light
Vocational blue
In sight
Leaving behind
Promised creed

sanct is a fun thing... I immediately think of quasimodo bellowing "sanctuary!" in that old black and white film The Hunchback of Notre Dame:) sacrosanct is a fun one too (do not diddle with god's truths!) in other words don't question it kid do as I say not as I do LOL and then to add a little icing... Sanctimonious "making a show of being morally superior to other people." regardless of what I do I am right LOL so as I ponder your lines and I have broken the sanctity of the "sancts" I am left feeling a sense of promise that was not kept an image of a divine that didn't get filled within your cup whether it was for your drinking or for another but in the end the cup is still in your hand..:)

Becuz of the familiarity of the phrase "Sanctity of Life" -- I started out reading your poem as a statement about unborn life. I thought this idea fits a little, but upon second perusal, I felt your message spoke to a different, more all-encompassing sanctity. Especially with the image you use (which I love), I see the spark of new life as being a major force in of every aspect of creating (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Intriguing and captivating... I get the sense of dealing with the day by knowing it will wash out on the tide, and the faith that sustains hope, the harbinger of the morrow.

Tightly conceived and wrought into a a powerful poem.

we see a bluer sky in our tomorrows...at least we hope for that...and each new day we leave those things behind that we promised ourselves or others that we would do.
