Ithaca

Ithaca

A Poem by B

A beautiful clarity befell
Tender often known too well
Coming through to fend
Whites unbearing end
A soft whisper in bloom
Beyond thoughtful noon
Fall upon gentle hand
Somewhere to land
Liftless moment in pray
Question most away
The idea in stone
Fireplace loan
A french tune upon a wave
Gone by cave
A smiling call
Monograms left to stall
Tonight shades appear
Guiding away fear
A rhyming word in bliss
Sending a blue kiss
Forgetting to be told
The hearts sold
Solitude in limbering hue
Embraces made of dew
A pressing world gone too soon
Angels landing through boon
Towards a figure
A Weightless life begins

As a rhymer myself, I love the way you use a wide variety of rhymes, but many of them have sound similarities thru-out the poem. I like how this makes it feel like gentle transitions between one rhyme pattern & the next & the next. I also get the feeling you are capturing your random thoughts which are much more sparkling & vivid than the way most people think! *smile* I can't imagine what half of this means, but I admire writers who can be so uninhibited about throwing down what flits thru the mind (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie

Thank you
i guess i write differently
The slow and deliberate trip into the afterlife.
What starts that journey. Was it just time, something just build up and that was enough.
Who knows, maybe that is the mystery.

Life sure is the sweetest mystery
Thanks Paul
i like the rhyme here, it weighs down the poem...in a way...but still there is some fear..for the speaker even as she looks for bliss...for something to get her out of her solitude...
but the rhyme shows the rut she is in...no getting away from the lonely monotony...and then suddenly the last word...
"weightless" and non-rhyming...
the stone is moved and she is rising...maybe she has freed herself with suicide...but the weight has been lifted.

And life begins
