Children of War

Children of War

A Poem by B

As the lighthouse dimmed down
Boats of mercy took one last round

Floating are the bodies of life
Saying goodbye to the idea of peace

As children of war walk borders
Barefeet suffering the heat of disagreements

Crossing thin lines in discourse
As no one would notice the pain

In complete despair the souls live
Through utter anxiety we throw bombs

Mothers left fatherless in the dark
As children of war play through lost morale

Ethics took a dive on the designs of a wall
Wrecked by the matter of personal demand

Liking the air smoking ideology
None were found as this final scare

Blinded with rage of ethnicity
The chivalry ran out bleeding trees

Words we left through funds squandered
Breaking the bags of hope to fill those eyes

The sails have set to the after life
A journey to the heavens

Silent Images of a united family burns
For angels will care for our youth

If for one last night we light a candle
For all the lives lost in dust

As we fight for inches of land
A farther damage to the sanctuary of family

The act of amnesty of displacement

Looking at verse eight i have always spelt ideology like this and not as you have. This is, I know a very minor point andthis is a fine, very readable and thought provoking poem. Excellent writing

You're welcome
The wars at home can be as devastating to the child's psyche as the aftermath of any war. It goes on for years unabated with the worst results.

A fine poem.
