Extremely Bright

Extremely Bright

A Poem by B

A traditional lantern looked at sadness
Tossing out its light

Calling it out for darkness
Breaking it's swinging arms

Touching every petal of life
Dimming out the spark

Sadness broke in a well of tears
Drowning the spacious hall

While wise men built boats made of wood
Sadness drowned within the least volume of waters

Hitting the seabed looking up at the surface
Sparking a different kind of light

Extremely bright it spoke of innocence
Grounding its feet through muddy sand

Uttering prayers of bubbles that lift the heart
As the body floated a running river

Speaking of it's innate existence
Confessing i was never dark

I am the exremely bright light
For it took me ages to sense suffering

To grow an empathetic arm
Tickling those daring eyes

Asking you to cry
For those you let go by

For i was never evil wrecking your path
I only placed you on the surface of this beautiful river

Allowing you to see for once
The sun as it was meant to be seen

With your back unprotected
And your eyes looking upwards

When your conscious died in happiness
I peeled the cover of your fake gold face

I am extreme light
For after i have come

There is no room for your blindness
Not after those emotions you were made to feel

and that pic demands my being drawn by it ..very cool!
One thing you can be sure of in this life is this: You cannot make someone love you.
I've always been one to stand back and analyze actions, because as they say, "actions speak louder than words'.
Wonderful read.

I concur with that.
I love people watching.....sitting in a coffee shop, and watching the facial expressions of those walking by....and wondering.....why is that one smiling? why is that one so worried? .......

Your words touch upon an ironic truth - how the harshness of life can often add beauty and depth to the eyes who suffered through it all......

my favorite part... enjoyed your poem, brought forth some pass memories I had hidden away, to a forgotten place.

Typo sorry * encouragement
This is a beautifully painted canvas. Your choice of imagery has tones and textures which makes it that much more authentic for the reader to imagine.

"Sadness broke in a well of tears
Drowning the spacious hall"

Great line and amazing job.
