Killing Something

Killing Something

A Poem by Pinkjumpers

Just a glance, but

I’m left to question.

What is this thing-

your wild complexion?

Too scared to look,

Too afraid to feel

It’s all in my head

yet your presence is real.

To think of you

is to ache,

if you’re a sea

then I’m a lake.

My face can grasp a smile

but surely not forever

life isn't enough

when we’re not together.

I  let you fall from me

but with you I fell

forever. Now apart, alone

no depth to a farewell.
