Chapter 2A Chapter by ZnikbewYes.. the guards are SUPPOSED to be an exagerationFinally, the guard slammed the book shut, his cold blue eyes staring up at me. “This isn’t allowed to be in anyone’s possession,” he informed us in a gruff voice. He paused for a moment, studying me. “...You’re Mystic Rivers, aren't you?” He finally asked. I nodded slowly and a huge smirk broke out on the man’s face. He laughed coldly as he began pulling out a pair of metal handcuffs. “We’ve been looking for you for a long time, Mystic,” he said, spinning me around and locking my hands behind my back. “So you’ve been here the whole time, huh?” Confused, I let him handcuff me. The guard then pulled out a walkie-talkie from his back pocket. “I’ve got the Rivers girl,” he announced into the talkie. “Send up backup, asap. We’re gonna need as much backup as possible. Over.” “What the heck is this?” Arielle finally broke out. She was furious. I’ve never seen her like this. “Your sending BACKUP? What for? Possession of a book? How long is she gonna be in for?” The guard snorted. “Life,” he replied, just as the doors kicked open and marines filled into the room. “Take her away boys!” As I was beginning to be dragged out, the book collapsed to the ground, opening to the picture of the girl with the tattoos. Arielle stared at it, a look of wonder and thoughtfulness appeared on her face. I laughed bitterly to myself. “Well, you better hope that that legend is real,” I murmured to myself, mockingly. “Because we all know that I need her! We all need her.” © 2019 Znikbew |
