Shouldn't Have

This is the chapter the 2 kids get kidnapped.

I run to a tree, out of breath with Cam behind me. I sit with my back to it trying to recollect myself. I look up to see the full moon and billions of little, gigantic, stars.

"This feels wrong." I pant.

"Don't worry, I've done this before and was just fine.  Trust me."  I know what this looks like, someone taking advantage of me, but it's not that way.  He's the only one that can perceive my life in any way.

See, I'm different, I am much smarter than a genius.  I made that watch.  It recharges itself, it can read your mind, and it can save your life.  It just looks like a Sprint watch with all of the fancy things on the screen.

Cam and I have been dating for years and have a theory.  We are highly evolved.  We aren't sure about anything in life other than on thing; that we are different.

I heard a car rumble in the distance, like the pitter-patter of thunder, but diminished.

Eventually, the car came closer, headlights glaring, black, and glossy.  It wasn't a car, but a van.  It looked sort of like it was from a news station and stopped fairly far behind us.
