Waterfall

Waterfall

A Poem by PinkLemonade
"

It's sort of a song, actually... which explains the repetition and rhythm. Other than that, I hope it speaks for itself... (:

"

Slamming doors and

Falling tears

And I’m waiting

Petrified by fear

Coming close

To the edge

And I’m starting to think

We were all inside my head

But I’m not gonna let this waterfall

Rain on my parade

And I’m gonna push on

Fight right through the pain

Because when those tears

Start to flow

Rushing waterfall

Someone’s gotta go

Something’s gonna blow

Someone’s gonna fall

Coffee stains

On your clothes

Permanent

Like a crumpled rose

Small notebook

Pages full of

Empty words

Heartbroken and cruel

No-one knows

Who you are

What you did

Why I’m scarred

But I’m not gonna let this waterfall

Rain on my parade

And I’m gonna push on

Fight right through the pain

Because when those tears

Start to flow

Rushing waterfall

But I really do not know

Where to go

Who I am

Who I’ll be

This piece flows in thought and cadence akin to that of a waterfall. I felt that the words took me along a journey of one who has been bounced through a social storm, left feeling like a pin ball, bashed one direction and then again another, finding solace in the inner thoughts and safe places of creation. Creation of the fantastical, rather than the real. Often it's the place we go when life is at it's darkest times, for fantasy brings more happiness than reality.
This piece also tells me of the journey to step past the troubled waters and the shelter with in, once again braving the world, one step at a time.

Great Ink!
