They're doing it again
They're in a fight
'Cause daddy went out again
All night
I hug Mr. Teddy closer
And curl up in my bed
I cry into his face
And secretly wish daddy were dead
I hear a big slap and a crash
Over the thunder and rain
I hear mommy scream
I hear her pain
I hear daddy stomp somewhere
I hear a click
I hear mommy scream again, this time in fright.
She screams, "No please! I'm sorry Rick!"
I hear daddy, his speech slurred,
"Too late, babe. This is the end."
I hear mommy scream again, and I clutch Mr. Teddy closer
I hold by breath and into a ball I bend
I hear mommy scream one more time
Then I hear a bang
I start to cry harder,
And my ears rang
"What happened?"
I ask Mr. Teddy in fear
I hear daddys foot steps up the steps
I see him come near
He walks to me,
He comes into my room
I see in the darkness hes holding a rifle
And I knew that was what had caused the boom
"What are you going to do, daddy?" I whisper to him
He glares at me with bloodshot eyes.
"Youre a pest, just like your mother was
Im getting rid of you and all your lies."
"No!" I scream
I jump out of bed,
Hoping to get away
I run down the stairs, and see mommy dead.
I run to her side
And feel her cold face
I wipe away her tears
I caress her shirt of lace
And whisper,
"No, no, no, mommy. You cant go yet.
You promised wed travel the world some day,
To Disneyland, and Tibet!"
I hear daddy come down the stairs
But I continue to wipe off mommys tears.
I hear another click,
And I start to cry in fear.
I hear another bang
And I feel pain
I fall on top of mommy
And I hear the rain.
I feel the blood rush out of me, mixing with mommys
I hear daddy throw down that hateful gun
I hear him run out the house into the rain
I run my hands one last time though mommys hair, messing up her bun
I hear an ambulance
I hear...
I hear...
I hear nothing...
