Be Careful What You Wish ForA Poem by ThereWasBloodEverywherei like it. :)There once was a princess, valiant and true Alas, she lacked brains, and knew it too When someone inquired about 2 plus 2 She would simply stare blankly and answer, blue? She lamented her fate, she whined and she pined
But no noble tutor could sharpen her mind Sick of her life, she prayed one night And awoke with a mind that was truly divine The kingdom rejoiced they were pleased, they were gleeful
But the lady’s joy soon turned fearful
With each passing day, her ugliness grew People soon looked at her with horror and booed
Soon they spoke of admitting her to the nearby zoo Her knowledge was growing like a tumorous balloon She couldn’t stop knowing and it made her head ache She hated knowing all that she knew It was all too morbid and tragic too So every night she cried out and wished
Asking for her fate to be reimbursed Finally one night, a fairy came flying And asked why she cried in a voice so annoying She replied “I am to smart and no longer fair.” The sprite answered with “Well, I really don’t care” “You asked to be smart, you asked to have knowledge So now that you’ve got it… suck it up honey.” © 2008 ThereWasBloodEverywhereAuthor's Note
