Thanatophobia

Thanatophobia

A Poem by Daniel88Batson

He keeps the sunrise in his closet
The sunset on a pedestal,
And sex under the bed
By his diary.

An Oedipal hero with a beetle on his back.
He’ll outrun his bloodline
As raven’s clip our ankles.

A man with no horizon,
Nor the hope to fly.

Old men don’t fear death if they haven’t lived.

Dark and devilish! I googled Thanatophobia- the fear of death. that helped me to interpret the poem. You have given an eerie touch to this piece and it leaves the readers with a haunting feeling that lingers. Well done
