The Rose Hourglass

The Rose Hourglass

A Poem by Daniel88Batson

Intense. Too shy to say ‘I Love You’.

Lavender and Tulips, too
Organised my thoughts. When in fact your colours
Violate my vision. Ruby reds and ballistic blue,
Everlasting thorns for me and you. Hoping,

Yes pleading, that forget me not’s were true. The blossom yours, the blooming
Ours. Roots to petal,
Under your spell. Forget the air, water and earth. Together we can

Reassure our senses,
Outrun our evolution,
Seize the sunlight.
Eternal. Well that wasn’t to be.
