Thoughts on Dreams and Death

Thoughts on Dreams and Death

A Poem by Robert Malcom
"

a poem considering suicide and it's value

"

Artistry in life is lost

poetry aside been tossed

now comes the long refrain...

both life and death cannot remain

-

so float onto the cumulus cloud

sing and dance and dream aloud

rise above the tumultuous crowd

where shadow is not life endowed

-

break from these chains that hold you down

Imagine! discontented now

you mustn't settle for a crown

'tis more honorable to bow

-

So what to learn from all I've said?

that hope, and life, and love are dead?

nay say I, because to die

would bring thee no more tears to cry

-

Dreams are Dreams and Death is not

Death is life and hope forgot

resign yourself from its evil plot

no value lives in a life unfaught

-

Fly now free! away from me!

do not hold back what you can be

A tapestry! defining thee

like twilight on the open sea
