Cold Night Walk

Cold Night Walk

A Poem by Pigfaced Cherub
"

Walking in a winter wasteland.

"

it is extremely painful

to think in this frigid climate

it is smart to leave thoughts at home
every bone vibrates with hurt

nose runs; can’t blame it
mud is frosted on the ground

blood is muddy in my veins

teeth tap and crickets sing

dumb a*s crickets

wish I could rub my legs that fast

might warm this cold achy flesh
the stars burn hot and bright

but they are too far away
lights of home are closer now

leaving my outer space
orbiting the epicenter

closer

closer

good to finally be back home.

I write words and words. Still I find no relief. Punctuation bonanzas never free me from my self deprecation. I am traveling from Hell to Zion on a twisting path of cliches and reruns. It's a long lon.. more..
