Reverie

Reverie

A Poem by John Mallett
"

Nature at its finest

"
The purest sea surrounds the world
Dotted with virgin streaks of white
With warm swift breezes skyward swirl
And a stretching arc of jeweled light

A fiery sunbeam upon the grass
That shines like emerald sand
And flowers twinkle as coloured glass
While the warmth engulfs the land

The ruby red of poppys sway
In the clutches of the field
As birds and children alike they play
And nectar, flowers yield

The bees flit above the sunlit crowd
Of families by the lake
And upon the sun baked river ground
Lies what we should never forsake
