The purest sea surrounds the world
Dotted with virgin streaks of white With warm swift breezes skyward swirl And a stretching arc of jeweled light A fiery sunbeam upon the grass That shines like emerald sand And flowers twinkle as coloured glass While the warmth engulfs the land The ruby red of poppys sway In the clutches of the field As birds and children alike they play And nectar, flowers yield The bees flit above the sunlit crowd Of families by the lake And upon the sun baked river ground Lies what we should never forsake © 2013 John MallettAuthor's Note
