Sacrificial Offering

Sacrificial Offering

A Poem by Pierce Bryant

Effortless comes the conjuring.
Twisted forms the shape to someday's despair
Christening guileless mind,
The shift from soft phantasms toward their end of time.
Warden-pride.
Self-assumed, delusion begs the wanderer forward
Grifted paths sing the praise to hopeless success.
Amicable comes the kingdom with wealth and loves aplenty,
But lonesome will grow the Lord of a penny's court.
Amidst the rich & many
It is when I close my eyes that I lose my sense of deserving.
Songs of something less, I find myself missing.
Fear prepares a boast: "Remedy more, remedy more!"
And soon, someday, I will have everything
...and nothing more.
