The Lion

The Lion

A Poem by Ashley Pierce
"

A poem about my father

"
The lion
The king, he rules over all things
except me
Sounds of authority in the distance
Nothing but a whisper of neglect to me.
Strutting around with his head held high
Off in the distance i notice the resemblance in me

The lion
The king, carries himself with pride
his legacy
But what's a legacy without things you created
You don't know me
Paying close attention to the physical features

The lion
The king, his beauty is in my mirror
But I am not a reflection of him
